Total Time 25 minutes
Servings: 6 servings
Course: Appetizer
Cuisine: American

Ingredients

  • 1 pound lean ground beef (or optional ground turkey)
  • 10 ounces Ro*Tel Diced Tomatoes & Green Chilies (or optional chunky salsa)
  • 2 teaspoons chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 2 1/2 cups Mexican blend cheese (shredded)

Equipment

  • Large skillet
  • Spatula
  • Measuring spoons
  • Baking Dish

Method

  1. In a large skillet over medium heat, add the lean ground beef or turkey. Cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spatula. This should take about 5-7 minutes. Drain any excess fat if necessary.
  2. Sprinkle the chili powder and cumin over the cooked meat. Stir well to incorporate the spices, allowing them to toast slightly for added flavor, about 1 minute.
  3. Add the can of Ro*Tel Diced Tomatoes & Green Chilies (or chunky salsa) to the skillet. Stir until everything is well combined and heated through, about 3-4 minutes.
  4. Gradually add the shredded Mexican blend cheese to the mixture, stirring continuously until it is fully melted and the dip is creamy. This should take another 2-3 minutes.
  5. Transfer the dip to a serving dish or keep it warm in the skillet. Serve with tortilla chips, crackers, or fresh veggies for dipping. Enjoy the creamy, cheesy goodness with your loved ones!
