  • 2 pieces NY strip steaks
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 tablespoon onion flakes
  • 2 teaspoons dried rosemary
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 tablespoons crumbled blue cheese

Method
 

Preparation Steps:
  1. Start by taking your NY strip steaks out of the refrigerator about 30 minutes before cooking. Pat them dry with paper towels.
  2. In a small bowl, combine the salt, pepper, onion flakes, and dried rosemary. Rub this seasoning blend generously over both sides of the steaks.
  3. Place your cast iron skillet on the stove over medium-high heat. Allow it to heat up for about 5 minutes.
  4. Add the olive oil to the hot skillet, swirling it around to coat the bottom. Carefully place the seasoned steaks in the skillet and sear for about 4-5 minutes without moving them.
  5. Using your tongs, flip the steaks and cook for an additional 4-5 minutes for medium-rare. Use a meat thermometer to check for doneness.
  6. In the last minute of cooking, sprinkle the crumbled blue cheese on top of the steaks.
  7. Transfer the steaks to a cutting board and let them rest for about 5-10 minutes before serving with French fries and fresh greens.
