  • 0.5 cup sliced almonds
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 tablespoons corn syrup
  • 0.25 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 0.5 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 0.5 teaspoon almond extract
  • 2/3 cup dried tart cherries
  • 2 oz white chocolate melted

Equipment

  • Large mixing bowl
  • Spatula
  • Sheet pan
  • Parchment paper
  • Microwave-safe bowl

Method

  1. Step 1: Preheat your oven to 250°F (120°C).
  2. Step 2: Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
  3. Step 3: In a large mixing bowl, combine the vanilla Chex cereal, plain Cheerios, pretzels, sliced almonds, and dried tart cherries. Gently stir to combine.
  4. Step 4: In a small saucepan over low heat, melt the unsalted butter. Stir in the corn syrup, ground cinnamon, vanilla extract, and almond extract until well combined. Remove from heat.
  5. Step 5: Pour the melted mixture over the dry ingredients in the mixing bowl. Toss gently until everything is evenly coated.
  6. Step 6: Spread the coated mixture evenly on the prepared baking sheet. Bake for 40 minutes, stirring every 10 minutes.
  7. Step 7: Melt the white chocolate and drizzle it over the cooled mix.
  8. Step 8: Allow the chocolate to set before breaking the mix into pieces. Serve or store in an airtight container.

Notes

  • For a nut-free version, omit the sliced almonds or substitute with pumpkin seeds.
  • Use dark or milk chocolate instead of white chocolate for variety.
  • Store in an airtight container for freshness up to two weeks.
