Preparation
- If baking cookies fresh, let them cool until warm but not hot. Alternatively, warm store-bought or pre-baked cookies briefly in a low oven or microwave.
Toasting Marshmallow
- Skewer the jumbo marshmallow and hold it over a campfire, grill, or stovetop burner. Rotate slowly until evenly golden brown with a gooey center.
Assembly
- Place a piece of chocolate on the bottom cookie. Immediately add the hot toasted marshmallow on top of the chocolate, then sandwich with the second cookie. Press gently to meld together.
- Optionally, wrap the s'more in foil and let it rest for 1-2 minutes or warm in a warm oven to melt the chocolate further.
- Enjoy the s'more warm and gooey immediately for the best experience.
Notes
- Use soft and slightly warm cookies to help melt the chocolate faster.
- A kitchen torch or broiler can be used indoors to toast marshmallows safely.
- Wrap s'mores in parchment paper or napkins for cleaner hands while eating.
- Try different cookie types like oatmeal chocolate chip or peanut butter for variation.
- Add fresh fruit slices or seasonal spices for festive twists.
