Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
In a large mixing bowl, combine the pure maple syrup, light brown sugar, vanilla extract, salt, and vegetable oil. Whisk together until smooth.
Add the old-fashioned rolled oats to the wet mixture and stir until evenly coated.
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Pour the granola mixture onto the sheet and spread it out evenly.
Bake for about 20-25 minutes, stirring halfway through, until golden brown.
Once out of the oven, sprinkle chocolate chips over the top and let them melt slightly.
Allow to cool completely, then break into clusters and store in an airtight container.
