Ingredients

  • 1 can Garbanzo Beans drained and rinsed
  • 1/4 cup Tahini
  • 1/4 cup Maple Syrup adjust to taste
  • 1/4 cup Unsweetened Cocoa Powder adjust for more chocolate flavor
  • 1 tsp Vanilla Extract

Equipment

  • Food processor
  • Measuring cups and spoons
  • Spatula
  • Serving bowl

Method

  1. Gather all your ingredients and measure them out. Make sure to drain and rinse the garbanzo beans thoroughly to remove any excess sodium.
  2. In your food processor, combine the drained garbanzo beans, tahini, maple syrup, cocoa powder, and vanilla extract.
  3. Blend the mixture on high speed until it becomes completely smooth and creamy. You may need to stop and scrape down the sides of the bowl a few times to ensure everything is evenly mixed.
  4. Once blended, taste the dip. If you prefer it sweeter or more chocolatey, feel free to add more maple syrup or cocoa powder, blending again until fully incorporated.
  5. Transfer your Chocolate Hummus Fruit Dip to a serving bowl. Pair it with an array of fresh fruits, such as strawberries, apple slices, or banana chunks, and enjoy the delightful combination of flavors!

Notes

  • For a richer chocolate flavor, use dark cocoa powder instead of regular unsweetened cocoa powder.
  • To make it extra smooth, you can blend the garbanzo beans with a little water before adding the other ingredients.
  • Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.
