Ingredients

For the Crust:
  • 1 cup crushed dry roasted peanuts
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup margarine melted
For the Peanut Butter Layer:
  • ½ cup creamy peanut butter
  • 8 ounces cream cheese softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 16 ounces Cool Whip divided in half
For the Pudding Layers:
  • 3.4 ounces instant vanilla pudding (1 packet)
  • 3.4 ounces instant chocolate pudding (1 packet)
  • 3 cups milk
For Garnish:
  • Grated chocolate for garnish
  • Crushed peanuts for garnish

Equipment

  • Mixing bowls
  • Whisk
  • Spatula
  • 9x13 inch baking dish
  • Measuring cups and spoons

Method

Stepwise Method:
  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the crushed dry roasted peanuts, flour, and melted margarine. Mix well until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Press this mixture firmly into the bottom of the 9x13 inch baking dish to form a crust. Set aside.
  2. In a separate bowl, beat together the softened cream cheese, creamy peanut butter, and powdered sugar until smooth and creamy. Gently fold in half of the Cool Whip until well combined. Spread this mixture evenly over the crust in your baking dish.
  3. In two separate bowls, prepare the instant vanilla pudding and the instant chocolate pudding according to package directions, using 1.5 cups of milk for each. Allow them to thicken for about 5 minutes.
  4. Once the puddings are ready, start layering. Pour the vanilla pudding over the peanut butter layer, spreading it out evenly. Next, pour the chocolate pudding over the vanilla layer, smoothing it out carefully.
  5. Spread the remaining Cool Whip over the chocolate pudding layer. Use a spatula to make it look smooth and inviting.
  6. Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or overnight if you have the time. Before serving, garnish with grated chocolate and crushed peanuts for an extra touch of elegance.

Notes

  • For a gluten-free option, replace all-purpose flour with a gluten-free flour blend.
  • Use dairy-free margarine and cream cheese to make this dessert vegan-friendly.
