  • Electric mixer
  • 9x13-inch baking pan
  • Measuring cups and spoons

Method

Instructions:
  1. Step 1: Prepare the Cake Batter - Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). In a large mixing bowl, combine the Devil's Food cake mix, cinnamon, and any additional ingredients specified on the box. Mix on medium speed until well combined and smooth.
  2. Step 2: Bake the Cake - Pour the cake batter into a greased 9x13-inch baking pan. Bake according to package instructions, usually 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean. Let cool in the pan for about 15 minutes.
  3. Step 3: Prepare the Milk Mixture - While the cake cools, whisk together the sweetened condensed milk, evaporated milk, half-and-half, and cocoa powder in a separate bowl.
  4. Step 4: Soak the Cake - Poke holes all over the cooled cake with a fork. Pour the milk mixture evenly over the cake and let it absorb for at least 30 minutes.
  5. Step 5: Make the Whipped Topping - In a mixing bowl, combine the heavy whipping cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract. Beat on high speed until stiff peaks form.
  6. Step 6: Assemble the Cake - Spread the whipped cream topping evenly over the soaked cake.
  7. Step 7: Garnish and Serve - Top with fresh cherries, slice, and serve chilled.
