  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 0.5 teaspoon baking soda
  • 14 tablespoons unsalted butter divided
  • 1 cup dark brown sugar
  • 0.5 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 large egg yolk
  • 1.5 cups semisweet chocolate chips

Method
 

Baking Instructions:
  1. Step 1: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Step 2: In a medium bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour and baking soda. Set aside.
  3. Step 3: In a large bowl, melt 10 tablespoons of unsalted butter and let it cool slightly.
  4. Step 4: Add dark brown sugar and granulated sugar to the melted butter; mix until smooth.
  5. Step 5: Stir in salt, vanilla extract, egg, and egg yolk until fully incorporated.
  6. Step 6: Gradually add the flour mixture to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  7. Step 7: Gently fold in the semisweet chocolate chips using a spatula.
  8. Step 8: Chill the dough in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes (optional).
  9. Step 9: Scoop dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, spacing them 2 inches apart. Bake for 10-12 minutes.
  10. Step 10: Let cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a cooling rack.
