Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 2 teaspoons ground black pepper
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 pound chicken tenders
  • Oil for frying (such as vegetable or canola oil)

Method
 

  1. Start by rinsing the chicken tenders under cold water and patting them dry with paper towels.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the buttermilk and water until well combined.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, salt, and ground black pepper. Mix well.
  4. Dip each chicken tender into the buttermilk mixture, then coat it generously in the seasoned flour.
  5. In your deep frying pan or Dutch oven, pour in enough oil to submerge the chicken tenders and heat to 350°F (175°C).
  6. Carefully add the chicken tenders to the hot oil and fry for about 4-6 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  7. Use a slotted spoon to transfer the chicken tenders to a plate lined with paper towels to drain excess oil.
