Ingredients

  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 2 teaspoons unseasoned rice vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons minced red onion
  • 2 teaspoons finely chopped fresh dill (about 2 large sprigs)

Method
 

  1. Gather all ingredients. Freshness is key, so use the best quality Dijon mustard and honey.
  2. In a medium mixing bowl, combine 3 tablespoons + 1 teaspoon of Dijon mustard and 2 tablespoons of honey. Use a whisk to blend until smooth.
  3. Add 2 teaspoons of unseasoned rice vinegar for a tangy flavor.
  4. Fold in 2 tablespoons of minced red onion and 2 teaspoons of finely chopped fresh dill.
  5. Add ground black pepper to taste.
  6. Slowly whisk in 3 tablespoons of mild olive oil until emulsified.
  7. Taste and adjust sweetness or tanginess as desired.
  8. Let the sauce sit for at least 30 minutes in the refrigerator before serving.

Notes

  • Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one week.
  • For a smoky flavor, add a dash of smoked paprika.
  • This sauce can be frozen for up to three months; thaw in the refrigerator before using.
