  • 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • ½ cup sun-dried tomatoes packed in oil, drained
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tablespoons cream cheese, at room temperature
  • Chopped fresh basil, for garnish

Equipment

  • Large skillet
  • Meat thermometer
  • Wooden spoon
  • Measuring cups and spoons

Method

Cooking Instructions:
  1. Step 1: Prepare the Chicken - Season the chicken breasts with the garlic powder, onion powder, kosher salt, and black pepper. Ensure even coating.
  2. Step 2: Sear the Chicken - Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add chicken, sear for 5-7 minutes per side until golden and cooked through. Remove and set aside.
  3. Step 3: Create the Flavorful Sauce - In the same skillet, reduce heat to medium. Add butter, garlic, and red pepper flakes. Sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
  4. Step 4: Thicken the Sauce - Sprinkle flour over garlic mixture, stir well. Gradually pour in chicken broth, stirring constantly. Cook for about 2 minutes until thickened.
  5. Step 5: Add Cream and Seasonings - Pour in cream and add Italian seasoning. Simmer for 3-5 minutes. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  6. Step 6: Add Finishing Touches - Stir in sun-dried tomatoes, Parmesan, and cream cheese until melted and creamy.
  7. Step 7: Combine Chicken and Sauce - Return chicken to skillet, spoon sauce over top. Simmer for 2-3 minutes to warm through.
  8. Step 8: Serve and Garnish - Serve hot, garnished with basil. Pair with pasta, rice, or salad. Enjoy!
