Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup butter softened, unsalted
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley finely chopped
  • 1/2 tsp dried basil
  • 1/4 tsp dried thyme
  • 1/4 tsp kosher salt
  • 1 clove garlic pressed or 1 tsp garlic paste
  • 1 pinch red pepper flakes

Equipment

  • Mixing Bowl
  • Spatula or wooden spoon
  • Measuring spoons
  • Plastic wrap or parchment paper
  • Sharp knife

Method

  1. Start by measuring out all your ingredients. Having everything ready to go makes the process smooth and enjoyable.
  2. If your butter isn't already softened, leave it out at room temperature for about 30 minutes or microwave for about 10 seconds without melting it.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine the softened butter, fresh parsley, dried basil, dried thyme, kosher salt, garlic, and red pepper flakes. Mix everything until well combined and creamy.
  4. Taste your Garlic Herb Butter and adjust the flavors by adding more salt, herbs, or garlic as needed.
  5. Transfer the mixture onto plastic wrap or parchment paper. Shape it into a log, twisting the ends to secure it. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes until firm.
  6. Once chilled, unwrap the log and slice off pieces of your Garlic Herb Butter. It’s ready to top your favorite dishes!
