Total Time 10 minutes
Servings: 4 servings
Course: Dip, Spread
Cuisine: American

Ingredients

  • 8 ounces cream cheese (softened at room temperature)
  • 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh dill
  • 2 teaspoons chopped fresh chives
  • 1/2 small garlic clove (finely minced or grated)
  • 1 pinch kosher salt (plus more to taste)
  • 1 pinch freshly ground black pepper (plus more to taste)

Equipment

  • Mixing Bowl
  • Spatula or Spoon
  • Measuring spoons
  • Garlic press or grater

Method

  1. Start by gathering all your ingredients. Make sure the cream cheese is softened to room temperature; this will make it easier to blend with the other ingredients.
  2. In a medium mixing bowl, add the softened cream cheese and mayonnaise. Using a spatula or spoon, mix them together until well combined and smooth.
  3. Next, fold in the chopped fresh dill and chives. These herbs not only add flavor but also a lovely pop of color to your cream cheese.
  4. Finely mince or grate the garlic clove and add it to the mixture. This will ensure that the garlic flavor is well distributed throughout the spread.
  5. Add a pinch of kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper. Stir the mixture well and taste. Adjust the seasoning with more salt or pepper if desired.
  6. For the best flavor, cover the bowl and let the cream cheese chill in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes. This allows the flavors to meld beautifully. Serve with your favorite bagels, crackers, or fresh veggies. Enjoy!

Notes

  • Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 5-7 days.
  • For longer storage, freeze in a freezer-safe container for up to 3 months.
  • Let frozen cream cheese thaw in the refrigerator overnight before serving.
