Ingredients

For the Clafoutis:
  • 1 pound green grapes (washed and dried)
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 4 large eggs
  • ½ cup butter (melted, salted)
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • ¾ cup sugar (granulated)

Equipment

  • Mixing Bowl
  • Whisk
  • 9-inch round baking dish
  • Measuring cups and spoons
  • Oven mitts

Method

Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Grease your 9-inch round baking dish with a little butter or cooking spray.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine the milk, melted butter, eggs, and vanilla extract. Whisk together until smooth and well combined.
  4. Gradually add the sugar and all-purpose flour to the wet mixture. Continue whisking until there are no lumps, and the batter is silky.
  5. Gently fold in the washed and dried green grapes, ensuring they are evenly distributed throughout the batter.
  6. Pour the grape batter into the prepared baking dish.
  7. Place the dish in the preheated oven and bake for about 35-40 minutes, or until the clafoutis is puffed and golden brown.
  8. Once baked, remove the clafoutis from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes. Dust with powdered sugar before serving.

Notes

  • Using fresh, ripe green grapes is key for the best flavor.
  • Measure flour accurately by spooning it into your measuring cup.
  • Letting the clafoutis cool slightly before serving makes it easier to slice.
