Instructions:
- Step 1: Prepare the Jars - Sterilize your jars by washing them in hot, soapy water and rinsing thoroughly. Place them in boiling water for about 10 minutes.
- Step 2: Fill the Jars - Pour the sweetened condensed milk equally into the jars, filling each to about three-quarters full.
- Step 3: Seal the Jars - Secure the lids tightly, ensuring a snug fit for steam to escape.
- Step 4: Set Up the Slow Cooker - Place a clean kitchen towel at the bottom of the slow cooker and arrange the jars upright on top.
- Step 5: Add Water - Pour water until the jars are submerged by about two-thirds.
- Step 6: Cook - Cover and set the slow cooker to low heat. Cook for 8 hours.
- Step 7: Cool and Stir - After cooking, let the jars cool in the water for 30 minutes, then stir to achieve a smooth consistency.
- Step 8: Store - Let cool completely at room temperature before refrigerating. Store for up to two weeks.
Notes
- Always sterilize jars to prevent spoilage.
- Leave space in jars for expansion during cooking.
- Don’t open the slow cooker lid while cooking to maintain heat.
