Start by preheating your oven to 400°F (200°C). A hot oven is key to achieving that crispy texture on your chicken.
In a mixing bowl, combine the soy sauce, Kecap Manis, honey, sesame oil, and minced garlic. Whisk everything together until well combined.
Add the chicken drumettes and wingettes to the bowl with the marinade. Toss the chicken until it’s well coated in the sauce. Let it marinate for at least 30 minutes.
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it. Place the marinated chicken pieces on the baking sheet, making sure they’re spaced out.
Bake the chicken in the preheated oven for about 25-30 minutes, turning them halfway through.
Once the chicken is cooked, remove it from the oven and drizzle with the extra honey for added sweetness.
Sprinkle sesame seeds over the chicken for a beautiful presentation. Serve with lemon wedges on the side.
