Start by filling a large pot with 1 quart of water. Place it on the stove over high heat and bring it to a rolling boil.
Once the water is boiling, carefully add the bag of frozen broccoli to the pot.
Add 1 teaspoon of kosher salt to the boiling water to help season the broccoli.
Allow the broccoli to boil for about 3 to 5 minutes until tender yet still bright green.
Use a colander to drain the broccoli thoroughly. Be careful as the steam will be hot!
Return the drained broccoli to the pot (off the heat) and add 4 tablespoons of butter, 1 teaspoon of ground black pepper, 1 teaspoon of garlic powder, and 2 tablespoons of soy sauce. Toss until well coated.
Taste and adjust seasoning with more salt and pepper if needed.
Transfer the seasoned broccoli to a serving bowl and enjoy!
