Total Time 10 minutes
Servings: 4 servings
Course: Sauce
Cuisine: Latin American

Ingredients

  • 1 medium Serrano Pepper washed and seeds removed if desired
  • 3 cloves Garlic peeled
  • 1 cup Fresh Cilantro Leaves washed
  • 1 cup Lime Juice freshly squeezed
  • 1/2 cup Extra-Virgin Olive Oil
  • to taste Salt
  • to taste Pepper

Equipment

  • Blender or Food Processor
  • Measuring cups and spoons
  • Cutting Board and Knife
  • Storage container

Method

  1. Start by washing the serrano pepper and fresh cilantro. Peel the garlic cloves. If you want to reduce the heat, you can remove the seeds from the pepper.
  2. In a blender or food processor, combine the serrano pepper, garlic cloves, fresh cilantro leaves, lime juice, extra-virgin olive oil, salt, and pepper.
  3. Pulse the ingredients until they are well combined and the mixture is smooth. You may need to scrape down the sides of the blender or processor to ensure everything is mixed evenly.
  4. Taste your Mojo sauce and adjust the seasoning if necessary. You can add more lime juice for acidity, more salt for flavor, or even more pepper for extra heat.
  5. Use the Mojo sauce immediately over your favorite dishes, or transfer it to a storage container and refrigerate. It will keep well for up to a week.

Notes

  • This sauce can be made ahead of time for deeper flavors.
  • Freeze in ice cube trays for easy portioning.
  • Adjust the heat level by varying the amount of serrano pepper used.
