Ingredients
  

  • 1 bag microwave popcorn (natural flavored)
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 4 cups mini marshmallows
  • patriotic sprinkles to taste

Method
 

  1. Start by popping your bag of microwave popcorn according to the package instructions. Once it's done, carefully remove it from the microwave, and let it cool slightly before transferring it to a large mixing bowl.
  2. In a medium saucepan over low heat, melt the butter. Once melted, add the mini marshmallows and stir continuously until they are completely melted and smooth. Remove the saucepan from heat and stir in the pure vanilla extract.
  3. Pour the melted marshmallow mixture over the popcorn in the large mixing bowl. Using a spatula, gently fold the popcorn until it is evenly coated with the gooey mixture. Be careful not to crush the popcorn as you mix.
  4. Sprinkle in the patriotic sprinkles and mix again until they are well distributed throughout the popcorn. The colorful sprinkles will add that festive touch to your treat!
  5. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper (if desired) and spread the coated popcorn mixture evenly across the sheet. Allow it to cool for about 30 minutes or until it hardens slightly.
