  • 2/3 cup chocolate chips optional
For the Peanut Butter Layer:
  • 1 1/2 cups creamy peanut butter
  • 1/3 cup powdered sugar
For the Pretzel Topping:
  • 1 3/4 cups crushed pretzel pieces
  • 6 tablespoons butter melted

Equipment

  • Mixing bowls
  • Whisk
  • Spatula
  • 9x13-inch baking pan
  • Parchment paper
  • Measuring cups and spoons

Method

Cooking Instructions:
  1. Step 1: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a 9x13 inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. Step 2: In a large mixing bowl, beat together 1/2 cup of room temperature butter and 1 1/2 cups of sugar until creamy. Add 2 eggs and 2 teaspoons of vanilla extract and mix until well combined.
  3. Step 3: In a separate bowl, whisk together 1 1/4 cups of all-purpose flour, 1/4 teaspoon of salt, and 3 tablespoons of cocoa powder. Gradually add this dry mixture to the wet ingredients and stir until just combined. Fold in the 2/3 cup of chocolate chips if using.
  4. Step 4: Spread the brownie batter evenly into the prepared baking pan. Use a spatula to smooth out the top.
  5. Step 5: In another bowl, combine 1 1/2 cups of creamy peanut butter and 1/3 cup of powdered sugar. Mix until smooth and spread it over the brownie layer in the pan.
  6. Step 6: In a bowl, combine 1 3/4 cups of crushed pretzel pieces and 6 tablespoons of melted butter. Stir until the pretzels are fully coated. Sprinkle this mixture over the peanut butter layer, pressing down gently.
  7. Step 7: Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  8. Step 8: Once baked, remove the brownies from the oven and allow them to cool completely in the pan. Lift them out using the parchment paper and cut into squares.

Notes

  • Store brownies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
  • Refrigerate for up to a week or freeze for up to three months.
