Ingredients

  • 1 lb lean ground turkey
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 Tbsp avocado oil
  • 2 tsp toasted sesame oil
  • ¾ cup gluten-free all-purpose flour
  • 3 stalks green onion, finely chopped
  • 1 Tbsp fresh ginger, peeled and grated
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • ½ tsp sea salt to taste
  • ¼ cup coconut aminos
  • 2 tsp sesame oil
  • 1 large clove garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp fish sauce (optional)

Equipment

  • Air fryer
  • Mixing Bowl
  • Baking sheet
  • Measuring cups and spoons
  • Spatula

Method

  1. Start by gathering all your ingredients and tools. Preheat your air fryer according to the manufacturer's instructions.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the lean ground turkey, large egg, avocado oil, toasted sesame oil, gluten-free all-purpose flour, finely chopped green onion, grated fresh ginger, minced garlic, and sea salt. Mix well until all ingredients are thoroughly combined.
  3. Using your hands, scoop out a portion of the meat mixture and roll it into a ball about the size of a golf ball. Place the formed meatballs on a baking sheet or plate, making sure they aren’t touching.
  4. Once you have formed all the meatballs, place them in the air fryer basket in a single layer. Cook at 375°F (190°C) for about 10-12 minutes, or until the meatballs are golden brown and cooked through. You may need to work in batches depending on the size of your air fryer.
  5. While the meatballs are cooking, prepare the dipping sauce. In a small bowl, combine the coconut aminos, sesame oil, minced garlic, and fish sauce (if using). Stir until well blended.
  6. Once the meatballs are cooked, remove them from the air fryer and let them cool slightly. Serve with the dipping sauce on the side and garnish with extra green onions if desired.
