  • 1 scallion scallion (white and green parts, finely chopped)
  • 2 ripe avocados ripe avocados
  • 2-4 tablespoons lukewarm water (to adjust consistency)

Equipment

  • Mixing Bowl
  • Fork or Potato Masher
  • Knife and cutting board
  • Measuring spoons
  • Storage container

Method

  1. Gather all your ingredients. Ensure your avocados are ripe but not overly mushy.
  2. Cut the lime in half and squeeze it into a measuring spoon until you have about 2 tablespoons of fresh lime juice. Set aside.
  3. In your mixing bowl, cut the ripe avocados in half, remove the pit, and scoop the flesh into the bowl. Mash the avocados to your desired consistency.
  4. Stir in the lime juice, salt, chopped green chili, and scallion.
  5. If the guacamole is too thick, add lukewarm water one tablespoon at a time until you reach the desired consistency.
  6. Taste and adjust seasoning as needed.
  7. Transfer the guacamole to an airtight container, pressing plastic wrap directly onto the surface before sealing.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, consider adding minced garlic or a dash of cumin.
  • Experiment with different types of chilies to find the heat level that works for you.
  • Fresh herbs like cilantro can also be a delightful addition if you're a fan.
